The Feed Ball is rotomolded using medium density polyethylene. Rotomolded MDPE offers a range of benefits that make it an ideal material for various applications. Its excellent durability and impact resistance allow it to withstand harsh environments, making it suitable for outdoor use. MDPE is also lightweight yet strong, facilitating easy handling and transportation. Additionally, its flexibility in design enables the creation of complex shapes without compromising structural integrity. The material is resistant to chemicals and UV radiation, ensuring longevity and minimal maintenance.
The Feed Ball was designed to take a beating and with a UV stabilizer mixed in with the resin, it is made to last for decades out in the elements.
Rotomolded deer feeders offer several advantages over traditional metal feeders. Firstly, the rotomolded design creates a durable structure that resists rust and corrosion, ensuring longevity even in harsh weather conditions. Unlike metal feeders, which can dent and bend, rotomolded feeders are impact-resistant and can withstand rough handling. Additionally, the lightweight nature of rotomolded materials makes installation and relocation much easier.
Furthermore, rotomolded feeders typically have a more versatile design, allowing for various shapes and sizes that can cater to specific feeding needs. They also tend to have better insulation properties, helping to keep feed dry and protected from moisture. Lastly, rotomolded feeders often come in a variety of colors, blending more naturally into the environment, which can be beneficial for attracting deer without causing alarm. Overall, rotomolded deer feeders combine durability, functionality, and aesthetic appeal, making them a superior choice for wildlife management.
The Feed Ball was designed as a spherical shape for multiple reasons:
The central drive shaft system was designed to allow the user easy access to all critical components of the mechanical system at face height. The battery, timer, motor and solar panel can all be conveniently accessed without removing cages, turning the feeder on its side or laying on the ground, while also keeping them out of reach of surrounding wildlife, eliminating the potential for damage to the components that keep the feeder operational.
The drive shafts are custom made in our shop and composed of 1/4" stainless steel round bar with two bearings that allow the shaft to spin freely inside of a protective, schedule 40 pipe encasing the shaft. The drive shaft system is anchored to both the top and bottom of the feeder using flanged locknuts, offering a rigid anchor within the feeder itself.
The Feed Ball is designed to efficiently broadcast corn to attract wildlife, enhancing the feeding experience. By using a 12v motor system, the motor allows for an ample amount of torque to provide a wide distribution of feed. Feed is broadcasted in a 360 degree radius, ensuring effective scattering over an area of 20~30 feet.
The feed is broadcasted between the two, 24" varmint guard plates at the bottom of the feeder using a 4" bowl spinner plate.
The Feed Ball rotomolded parts are protected by a 20-year warranty. All rotomolded Feed Ball parts are warrantied against defects in material and workmanship. Warranty applies only to the original owner. This warranty is void if the product is structurally altered or subjected to stress beyond the physical limits of the materials used in the body or components. The Feed Ball is designed to hold 700 lbs. of feed. Damages incurred due to exceeding this limit are not covered under warranty
